Cool night air and soft flickering of forest dwellers soothed Jaheira's senses. That is where she felt most at home - in the security of dark green shades. Events of the last few days were worrying, but that doesn't mean she couldn't find time to commune with nature. After all, as a druid, Jaheira had a special affinity to it. "I can't sit idle the whole night" , Jaheira reminded herself. With a reluctant sigh, she took up her sheathed scimitars, cloak and a wrapped wooden tube. The last item was a gift, procured by Minsc from a shady old hag, who claimed her ancestors used to hunt great beasts using such weapons. High Harper intended to use it for much more peaceful endeavors. The forthcoming meeting was a long time in the making. A promising agent of Harpers does not resurface without good reason, so Jaheira took a personal inquiry in this matter. Something malicious has been stirring in the region and she had to know exactly what. So she tracked, sniffed around, questioned and spied for clues, the most promising one being this new face, who appeared after a nautiloid crashed from the sky, sacked by githyanki raiders. Some nicknamed the mysterious fellow as Tav. Their camp was not hard to find: subtle lights and faint music echoed along the river. Jaheira wondered how evil-doers haven't found it yet. Still, the river was an obstacle in her way. It was not wide, but ran so deep that crossing it unnoticed would be impossible. For anyone else. Jaheira stalked towards the shore, not disturbing even frogs, whose loud croaking obscured her footsteps. Taking a step into water, she called upon Wild Shape and instantly her skin glinted in the moonlight, her size shrunk and the High Harper, now a salmon, plopped into the cool water. In this bestial form Jaheira crossed the river, maneuvering between chunks of kelp and rubbish thrown here by previous careless denizens. For the latter she vowed to find and punish those responsible severely. Then she entered tall riverside cane and changed back, lamenting the waste of her abilities on a task a boat can perform as surely. Her thoughts were cut short, however, when a silhouette appeared in her peripheral vision and instincts told her to lie still. A woman entered the shoreline, her strange-colored skin glinting in the night lights. 'So this is their famed gith companion' Jaheira admired her toned body as the woman on the shore, standing in practically nothing above the waist, approached water. 'Can't sneak past her, that's for sure', thought the druid, 'then let's turn this into a learning opportunity.' She reached into her bag, pulled out and weighted the tube between her fingers. Jaheira didn't know how gith reacted to drugs, but she prepared a scroll of Sleep just in case her victim somehow was immune. Aiming the tube at the neck of Lae'zel, as reports had naimed this well-built githyanki lady, she exhaled hard and watched. Pfffft Lae'zel, who was in the process of gauging how easy it would be to slit a certain clerics's throat, felt a prick at the side of her neck. "Tsk'va!", she said as she brought her hand to swat the insect away. "This realm seeks to annoy me in every aspect!" As she waved a suspected insect away, the dart dislodged itself and fell to the sand. All while Jaheira was already preparing another. Pfft Pfft Now, when she felt two more pricks in her shoulder and her petite breast, Lae'zel began to worry. As much as she tried to get her vision to focus, it was blurred. She wavered on her feet, eyes drooping down and fluttering up several times before half-closing as she collapsed onto her side. Sand felt soft and cottony against her face, all the sounds muffled. Finally, she let out a defiant moan as the drug took hold on her consciousness and it slipped away. There she lay, on her side, completely out of it. Jaheira admired her work: taking three darts is no small feat, that githyanki wasn't a lightweight. 'Still, not much trouble.' High Harper left her cover and approached the unconscious fighter. Not a leaf stirred when she grabbed Lae'zel by her legs and carefully dragged the toned githyanki into the bushes. There, she covered the sleeping lady with her cloak and made sure she wasn't putting pressure on any limbs. 'None of these people are my enemies', Jaheira reminded herself. That's when she heard rustling in the trees opposite of her position. Instantly she grabbed her tube again. 'Were there more than one of them here?' Her elven eyes made out a faint shape in the treeline - someone hiding there. A lithe female elf quietly snuck through the greenery. As stealthy as she was, no one can hide from a druid in a forest. Jaheira noted the attempt though: either she suspected her presence, or wanted to sneak up on the githyanki too. 'In any case, she blocks my path.' Once again, High Harper readied her weapon. It was a rare opportunity for Shadowheart - Lae'zel caught all alone, unsuspecting and so vulnerable, perfect for doing all sorts of depraved things which will teach the brat to never cross a Sharite's path again. For that reason, she prepared a rag doused in Sleeping potion they recently «acquired» from a goblin shaman's corpse. Just a few whiffs of the magical concoction and the fighter will be out for the count, not able to resist Shadowheart's devious plan. However, when she approached the shoreline, no one was in sight. Shadowheart wondered if Lae'zel wound risk swimming in unknown waters. For ten minutes she awaited, but not a single sound betrayed someone else's presence. Then she uttered a silent prayer, and walked onto the beach, scanning her surroundings. Still, no one in sight. How strange. A small object layed on the sand, giving a soft glint in the moonlight. Shadowheart went to examine, bending over to take it in her hand. Is this...a dart? Pfffft It was, indeed, a dart. And a similar one has just struck Shadowheart's buttocks, sending a dose of tranquilizing drug into her and a wave of dizziness through her. Shadowheart's hand instinctively went up to grope her ass and pull the projectile out. She brought it before her eyes: its purple tuft looked so funny in cleric's drugged-up vision. Involuntarily, her knees buckled and she gave out a tired sigh. Her face met the sand, not that she felt it, and a bit of drool escaped her mouth. Satisfied with that, Jaheira approached the semi-conscious elf girl. 'She does look cute with a dart decorating her ass.' Patting her down, Jaheira found a soaked rag. A quick check confirmed her suspicions: sleep potion. "Well, you are a curious one. Whatever you were planning with this, now I will make use of it." Jaheira pulled the dart out of Shadowheart's buttock, getting a soft murmur from her. The cleric was on the verge of going out, but not giving up without a fight. High Harper unceremoniously flipped the unlucky lady on her back and dragged her into the same bush Lae'zel was napping in right now. Jaheira checked up on her first victim: the gith warrior was still in the dreamland, deeply sedated by three darts. 'That wouldn't last the whole night, thought. Who knows how long my mission will take... Then I'd better make sure both of you have a nice long snooze.' Taking Shadowheart by her shoulders, Jaheira lowered her face-to-face on Lae'zel's unconscious body. She tried to protest, but all that could be heard were muffled moans. Then, the rag Shadowheart intended to use on her adversary was gently pressed to her own face. 'Mmmmhhmm...' she thrashed, but Jaheira held firmly, and soon she couldn't help but take a few breaths of sleeping fumes. 'Nnnmmhmm...' Shadowheart said into the rag as her eyes rolled up and kicking stopped. Jaheira held the rag there for a moment and then let the elf girl's unconscious form down onto Lae'zel. They slept so soundly together you had no idea they hated eachother's guts. To make sure it stayed that way, Jaheira placed the drugged cloth on Lae'zel's face and Shadowheart's face on top of that. Now both girls slept with a rag between them, both inhaling soporific fumes. Only the white cloth betrayed the fact they were not cuddled in a loving embrace. 'Enough dallying. The night is young and I have a mission to accomplish', thought Jaheira as she set off on to the next stage of her journey.
